Belderbos Solicitors has announced the appointment of Emma Potter as a solicitor in its Oakham-based family law team.
Emma brings a strong foundation in all aspects of family law and will advise clients on a range of matters including divorce, financial settlements and child arrangements.
An active member of Resolution, Emma is dedicated to a sensitive yet strategic approach to family matters, aiming to resolve issues amicably wherever possible.
Emma said:
“I’m delighted to join the team at Belderbos. The company’s approach to family law is something I very much believe in. Resolving family matters amicably is of benefit to everyone, especially when children are involved. When a relationship breaks down, you still have to co-parent, so the more amicable, the better.
“Non-court resolutions also give you more control. The second you go to court you do lose control a little and the decisions made are out of your hands. We will represent our clients in court robustly if we need to, of course, but we will always explore out-of-court solutions first wherever possible.”
Emma says her approach is both practical and positive. She is committed to supporting clients through what is often a highly emotional and challenging time, and she enjoys building good relationships with those she assists.
Emma qualified in March 2025, with experience in divorce, finances and child arrangements. She holds an LLB from the University of East Anglia and completed the LPC (legal practice course), alongside her Masters, at BPP University.
